Our research indicated that liquidations are vastly more important than initiations.

I have become more and more aware of this in my own testing and now spend most of my time working on this aspect of it. Actually I believe the above statement misses the real problem most people have just slightly. It maybe more helpful to many traders if put this way, "The most important aspect of trading is properly matching an exit strategy to the entry strategy".

I think this is where most people fail. It is where I see the downfall for many of the traders I speak with. The different aspects of a trading system or method must be matched to work properly and few people seem to take this seriously. Many have the idea that if they can just get in at a good spot they will worry about getting out later. It does not work that way and that is why most fail.

No place is a "Good Place" to get in if you don't have a "Good place" to get out. Maybe it would be easier for most to understand if put another way. They should think of it like this......"ANY PLACE is a good place to get in if you have a GOOD PLACE TO GET OUT".
