Putting the words CMOS, battery, & password into a search engine provides lots of references, this one suggests where to look for a jumper if you don't have a manual. But many manufacturers have manuals in PDF format on thier websites. =========== To clear the password, you need to clear CMOS. The pins that will do this are always near the battery connector. Before clearing CMOS (and the password), you should go into setup and copy down all of the settings so you can recreate these later. The pins you'll want are usually in the range P1-P4. They may be marked CMOS, or RAM, or CLEAR or some combination. On some motherboards the pins you want are jumpered and you need to briefly remove the jumnper. On others, you need to short or jumper the pins. ================================ another one : If you can't find it in the manual, look on your motherboard and find the battery. There should be a jumper with three (3) pins directly adjacent to the battery. To reset the CMOS Settings/Password, move the jumper to the 2-3 position if it is currently 1-2, or 1-2 if it is currently 2-3, then turn on the system, wait a few seconds, then turn the power off. Now, move the jumper back to the original pins. Presto, no more password.
