I find it amusing that bulls are hanging their hat on macro policies that will "surely" get us recovering quickly when they pooh poohed all the bearish macro factors all these years... ie. deficites , indebtedness, etc. etc.

Sen. Max Baucus of Montana, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, said he was worried Congress would get carried away with tax cuts even before Bush sent up a budget showing how they fit with other spending priorities.

``I think we should call a time out,'' Baucus told reporters. ''We are on the verge of a feeding frenzy.''

There is a Democratic proposal to tie the cuts directly to government spending reductions.

Got accountability?

well, the size of the future 'surplus' is very much in question imo....and yet, i am all for tax cuts. on the principle that the citizenry knows better what to do with its own money than the state.
