RE: "Amy J, but that is totally different."

Combjelly,

I think you missed my main motivation in posting it, which isn't your fault, since I didn't articulate the key item in the article, which is: unrestricted donations by Energy/Oil companies.

This is a topic that should concern anyone, regardless of their Party affiliation, and should be cleaned up through legislation.

I think the journalist did an excellent job at illustrating where legislation is faulty and where it needs to be changed:

"There is virtually no regulation on contributions to inaugurals," explains Steve Weiss, communications director at The Center for Responsive Politics. This creates a White House-size loophole at the very dawn of a new administration.

So, the above is my main point. A point, which I believe, you would concur with, since it is not Party affiliated.

My next point though, is indeed specific to Bush. I consider payouts to a President from Energy/Oil companies, to be a matter needing investigation in light of the recent, most unusual sector gains in Energy/Oil, that are at the expense of the high-tech businesses in Silicon Valley.

RE: "is very uncivil of you. "

I suggest you ask a poster for clarification if you do not understand the key point of a post. It's more polite than using negative adjectives.

Regards,
Amy J
