there are some environmentally friendly aspects of GTL, such as optimization of resources and providing uses for otherwise hazardous end-products of refining. There is also supposed to be a connection with Hydrogen production, which is the ultimate in enviro-friendly fuels. OTOH, I agree with Scumbria that it is rash, ignorant, and most-likely ill-motivated for Bush to look first to the ANWR.
