Now we can connect the push and fetch technology with the convergence of wireless and DWDM. It is router switching that is push technology. When a connection has to be pushed to the destination.

Lucent's problem was router switching, where the speed of transmission is so fast that routers can not have time to make decision where to connect the data. Intercepters(DSP) using realtime technology is the only way(hardware design).

Convergence technology is the future of cable headends being the mesh network connection to trunk lines of DWDM fiber optical cables strung around the world(even on the ocean floors). First mile(to server farms) and last mile(cable headends) both being mesh network then converge on the trunk lines. Server farms are connected to wireless.
