The Register seems to think that the 2 are not related:

GV, your knee-jerk reaction there was very much AMDroid-like. Infectious? I know you posted a retraction. Good time these days to be picking on all the big techs like Cisco. Maybe they should all take their bat and ball and go home and we'd see how fast we'd be living in the trees again.
