RE: More problems with the new FABS? Which is this time, deposition problems 'cause they can't get copper into those deep trenches or are they having trouble etching them at .13, again?

Just for your information, the Cu Process is not "dep'd" into the trenches. That may be the Motorola way, but it's not our way. We do it differently. And we're not having any problem cutting those trenches..... At all.

Maybe committing to those high aspect ratios on their very first attempt at copper wasn't such a good idea, after all.

The SEM Cross Sections that I saw yesterday showed sidewall profiles that looked fine.

But I'm sure they're getting at least one good die out of every couple of wafers.

Ha Ha Ha Ha.... That's a good one. Not true..... But a good one nevertheless.

Is Q1 2002 looking like the earliest there'll be any real volume from the new process? Or is even that looking kind of iffy at this point?

Q1 2002? Where'd you get that one?? Oh wait..... I mean.... Yeah..... Q1 2002... That's right...., that's the date.... Ummmmmm..... make sure you let all the other AMDroids know that I said that....

Thanks,
Semi

Blow Hard Dan - You're getting really hysterical, again

Well - so you tap dance around your latest gaffe - claiming that Toshiba doesn't even manufacture RAMBUS memory.

Once again, you show us all what a complete FOOL and CLOWN you are.

Paul

Blow Hard Dannie - re: "Is Q1 2002 looking like the earliest there'll be any real volume from the new process? Or is even that looking kind of iffy at this point? "

Check out Tom's Hardware page - he kinda suggests 0.13 micron products from Intel will start showing up in Q2/Q3 of THIS YEAR.

tomshardware.com

"Q2/01 Tualatin 1.13 GHz with 256 kB L2-cache

Q3/01 Tualatin 1.26 GHz with 256 kB L2-cache

Q4/01 Tualatin >1.26 GHz with 256 kB L2-cache

Q4/01 Pentium 4 > 2 GHz with 512 kB L2-cache ('Northwood' core / Socket478)
"

Then again, you may have a better view of things from under Slick's desk.
