john, It will not be what is called a high performance box, but it seems to support raid and hot swap drive cages are available for SCA type drives from various vendors, so it is capable of server duty, but no threat to Compaq. There are people who would find a rack full of these systems a better deal for the $ than a compaq solution. It all depends on the cash you have the importance of your data, etc. These will serve as game emporium severs quite nicely. I would like to see some benchmarks on this type of system as they are getting better and better every year. Bill
