MOO!

FYI, if you can squish rights, then they aren't atomic are they? The justification for the rights you mention (the thing you say remains when you squish rights) would seem to be the actual stuff of their making

I did not bring up the squishing. Truthfully, RIGHTS cannot be squished. The squishing takes place against applied rights. RIGHTS are strictly notions--rational notions.

"rights" are also merely notioms. They do not need to commend themselves to reason, morality, or universality. Really, they share the fact that they are idea based.
Cool!

Which ideas do you like to work with--those imposed by Hitler's notions--or those imposed by CF's reliance on his own powers of rationality/logic/ truth recognition (relatively--groan). Would you rather drink poison or concord grapejuice. Is there a value distinction?

There is nothing solid about RIGHTS. They are, however, real--and they are notions.
