T.

I think it's obvious this office will become the campaign headquarters for Hillary 2004.

Always "long-term" thinkers, those Clintons.

I didn't think of that. BTW, there is some bad news about the office deal: nypost.com

Bad news for Bill

IT was nice to see yesterday's picture in The Post of Bill Clinton checking out potential office space at the Gallery Building, confirming my scoopette of Monday that he hasn't yet closed on his edifice of choice at Carnegie Hall Tower and would be inspecting the cheaper space closer to Fifth Avenue.

Anyway, I now learn that the management of Carnegie Hall Tower told Clinton's people late last week that they couldn't guarantee he would be accepted as the tenant of their penthouse floors. It was OK as long as the General Services Administration (that's us sucker taxpayers) would have been paying the $700,000-plus annual rent, but it wasn't OK when Slick Willie pledged that his own "foundation" would be footing some of the bill. I wouldn't take a check from this guy, either.

Amy, <Clinton's proposal for office space seems rather outlandish in size, for only 3 or 4 people.>

Tenchusatsu,

Yes, you must be right...I mean, the Clintons must of had the campaign workers in mind when they picked these offices...carrying placards and boxes of pamphlets back and forth on the elevator from the ground floor to the PH....great fun. A

nd the Clintons are also making a statement against visual pollution...no traditional banners or photos of the candidate draping ground level windows.

However, I am very glad the Clintons did not show such a penchant for this kind of "long term thinking" when they were in the WH. ;~))
