RE:I find two stock-chat boards is too many.

Well, I use four and I'm sure there are more.

Rarely was a viciously loyal consumer franchise so wasted.

I went to a trade show a couple of weeks back. The vendor I wanted to find (who has been in the business for YEARS)wasn't in the index. No problem, I'll check the addendum. Hmm. Not there either. I went to the show people and said, "I know Oriel Instruments is here, but I can't find them."

"Did you look them up in the index?"

"Yes. And the addendum."

"Well that's odd. I know they are here." They look themselves thinking I'm an idiot. "Well, they don't seem to be here."

"Yeah, I know!"

Finally another person says, "Oh yeah, they are under Thermo Oriel."

Here is a company that had a brand name, was bought by Thermo Electron (ever heard of them -- a big conglomerate) and Thermo decided that they wanted the Thermo name emblazened everywhere. But guess what? They forgot about the customers and that this little company had spent YEARS developing a brand name. Sheer incompetence.
