According to Forbes, its a done deal ("The company will eliminate up to about 2,000 jobs to bring its costs in line with market realities."). According to Dell spokesman Mike Maher, its pure speculation and rumors. According to everyone else, its possible.

Those numbers REALLY don't make sense. DELL has 36,000 employees and $32B in revenue. That seems to suggest $888M revenue per employee... I think Mr. Chu better check the batteries in his calculator.
