Hank, it seem we are both confused by this.
But I ain't fighten those turnips.

Actually on a huge gap down I would lighten up my PUTs naturally, but if we gap up I would expect a selloff, and would have been adding to them.

Actually, the change was faster, I entered today pretty close to 70% CASH and deployed about 20 positions, the last 10/12 in those six minutes just before 3:30PM. What changed my mind was the acceleration of the decline and the tic approaching the January 3rd low of -880 (we went just south of -800). Within the framework of the last six weeks, this was an extreme reading calling for a potential reversal. The fact that I will not be able to attend the "session" Monday and Tuesday also played into the sudden change of mind, in view of us reaching levels that seems attractive (like BRCM and BRCD being only $4 or so from the January low, SNDK being within $.5 of its low, VECO falling apart at the seams in barely a 15 minute span they shaved some $4.5 off it and other "signs"), before I expected them, I decided not to wait (I thought, as I mentioned earlier today that we might rally from the 2500 to about 2540/50 at least).

Mind you, if I knew I would be here Monday, I would probably have gone to about 40% cash rather than the current 30%.
