Land Rovers have aluminum bodies. Very thick aluminum, makes a very satisfying clunk when you close the door.

The thing that bugs me about it is that the dealer charges a fortune to work on it ($82 an hour), but they are the only one with the engine codes. Land Rover sells the right to use software to them for $50,000 plus rental fees. But I just did some research and found out that my 1996 Disco is OBD II compliant so I am hopeful that a mechanic with OBD II software can work on it from now on.

I bought some OBD II software for myself but haven't opened the box yet and am thinking about whether to keep it or return it. It cost $395, but if I can do some of the work myself that may pay for it.
