Maverick : To continue: Since I have owned this stock the company has a history of misteps and fumbles, and a lack of understanding of the effect of good PR. You know my saying that "OCP is Australia best kept secret" Has OE made some progress - yes! Aprilia is excellent and hopefully Peugeot will be as big. Optimax and PWC are such a small market but every little helps. OE needs a volume product - any volume product and scooters hold a real possibility. The Delphi and Saab news is wonderful but they are just promises - no delivery yet.
My problem is the track record as I see it, and here is the list in no particular order.
1. The Mercedes fiasco.
2. The Convertible
3. The Indonesia caper
4. Sundiro - is it alive or dead?
5. We have new reps in China, Germany and Detroit - to my knowledge we have no account in any of these places.
6 We are taking in $60M a year andnot a hint of profit.
7. We have just had a dilution to take advantage of the opportunities in the scooter market - that was 9 months ago - do you see any results?
8. New products have been launched and not a word from the company.
9.The CEO gives an interview - we may be profitable for the first time ever - it does not even get a mention in the press.
I could go on - but you know all the points. It appears that there is a total lack of a business plan and no effort is being made to get the company's message out. I would refer you to three posts on the Yahoo thread # 5701, 5702,and 5703 by Renneber where he sets out his opinion. For myself, I belive that there is no urgency within the company to achieve a profit. Look at the management - none have ever produced a profit in their working careers.
I could go on - but you know all the points by now - I would like to see an effort by management to produce a profit and show that shareholder value is a priority. The current management share holdings - is a joke - they have no vested interest. Will OE succeed - I do not know - but from an operational standpoint, the signs are not good at the moment.
