Jay, More Pimco comments on AMAT:

Dennis' Play of the Week:

1) Poor guidance for April has already been factored into this stock

2) Level of over capacity in the semiconductor industry is fairly well understood

3) Buying pickup will be very coincidental with an economic pickup

Mr. McKechnie appears to be overly optimistic IMO.

Jay, Thanks for your input. It makes sense to me. It would be interesting to find out at past bottoms in AMAT, what was said about it, everyone had probably given up on it I am guessing.

I hope we get an inter-meeting rate cut by the Fed this month. One thing that is interesting about all this is that the market tends to do a good job of predicting the end of slow-downs/recessions. I wonder though how far in advance of the recovery the market has tended to move in past downturns. The consensus on rate cuts seems to be that they take about 6 months to have any effect.
