If you look at what Social Security was first intended to be and what it evolved into, you will see the problem... OTOH, FDR was a very smart man. The right man at the right time. One of his greatest acheivements is cheap chickens, in every pot. Seriously. Jim Too bad cold fusion didn't pan out.

Dear Scumbria: Far better than a pay as you go ponzi scheme. Had it been sold as what it was, pure senior welfare, it would not have gotten much support. FDR and the Congress lied to the public, period. The New Deal was a Raw Deal. As you consistently show your your inability to admit you got screwed, bamboozled, flim flammed, etc., by the Democratic Party. Your aim is so bad, when the cause of your children's debt shoots some more past you into them, you fire your flamethrower at people actually shooting at the cause. You can't hit the barn door at 5 feet. You are just burning away any credibility you have left. So stop firing posts off in this area. Pete
