The budget is a very difficult question that seems easy to answer, but it is not. Years ago when I was a young lad, (OK longer ago then I care to admit) I was in a college government class. Our assignment was to reduce the federal budget. As easy as that sounds it is truly like the old Newton thing, for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. Don't toast me if I got that wrong, I'm working from memory here and I am just a sheet metal dude:) Anyhow, it sounds easy to just give the axe to a program that you don't like, but the reactions are far bigger then you might think for the simplest of programs. We can make the argument, such as farm supports, that we never should have been involved in the first place. But the fact is, we are involved. Now how do we get out. I use farm supports because I am more familier with them then I care to be:) I think the best question or statement that was ever made by a political figure happened before I gave a shit about this kind of stuff. But I think it is a statement that should be thought of by all of us, including the morons in DC (and yes I mean our feds, not the fools trying to run the district:), "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Or fellow man as it were. I firmly believe that our government at the federal level needs to be concerned with our nations safety. I don't think it should be involved in much else actually. I think on a local level we should all be involved with making sure people are cared for on their basic level. This was the way it was for years and the way it still is where I live. People are upset by Mr. Bush's wanting to support local church groups. On a pure level that is the support net around my area regardless of affiliation. You need food or housing you stop at the local pantry and you will get it. No preaching, no sermons. Your needs will be met. It really is a much more efficient deal then it would be if the government was running it. But the government supporting it means that there will be government involved. Now I have a problem because it will not be a simple you need this you get it approach anymore. I guess that it would be safe to say that I think government creates more problems then it will ever solve. Not smiling. Have a great night and I will check in tomorrow. I don't always get on the net but you can not offend me nor anger me. I enjoy seeing different views. That is the only way I can be convinced that I am right:)
