"even liquid nitrogen has only brought P4 to 2.1GHZ"

An important point here. Currently both the Tbird and the Athlon can be over-clocked to about the same speed using liquid nitrogen. While the P4 probably has significantly more process refinement ahead of it, it doesn't look like it has all that much more headroom than the Tbirds. In addition, the Tbird design can scale an impressive amount, it's only limitation appears to be the amount of heat generated. So what is limiting the P4? The double-pumped sections? If so, then that seems to be bad news, a major re-design will be needed to get it much over 2GHz.
