Duke, another thing I like about that Intel roadmap is that it has all bases covered WRT chip types for desktop, mobile, WS and server markets. There are so many chips there that the OEMs will barely keep up developing around them. In other words, they'll have no cycles left for any other vendor's chips, at least in the WS and server areas. Strangely, if there is a crack in the armor, it might be filled by low power Transmeta based appliances and modular servers. That crack is pretty small, at least for a while. The major OEMs have rejected Transmeta so far, could change. Still, there are some startups with some heavy-credential founders doing the Transmeta based boxes.
