Dear Scumbria: You think you know it all. Scientists, Good Management, and I believe that being together in one place has much higher productivity than everyone being separate especially with the distractions created by children and other things at home. Some people want to be out of their neighborhoods where they must live because work is a safer place. So put you and your children where your mouth is and we'll place you at Crime Alley Chicago where shootings happen every day. You will say after a few weeks telecommuting from there to "GET ME THE **** OUT OF HERE!!!!", and "Let me take my children to the job!". Technology has not yet been able to build an easy to use virtual office with the bandwidths currently available. DSL and Cable Modems are not available for a great deal of the people at prices they can afford. Perhaps when everyone is optically cabled to their homes for a small flat fee per month, then telecommuting will make sense. Pete
