most of the solid techs - JDSU, SUNW, ATML are looking to bounce off the lower Bollinger. Check out ATML leaps

what do you mean by the lower Bollinger. I heard of the term bollinger bands. Are these stocks trading at the lower end of the range?
I am not a big follower of Technical Analysis but will be interested in knowing how a technician looks at the big caps.

Just a general idea on the significance of the bollinger bands would be appreciated. thanks.

I have been a momentum trader for so long and lately there has been no momentum at all in most sectors--see lots of rotation in the various sectors but nothing shows any real momentum to move stocks up significantly in any one sector.
My best guess would be that techs will get their momentum as there has been a lot of selling and short selling and the cash is still waiting to be poured back into the markets. ie..from downward momentum to upward soon ---probably from the unwillingness of sellers to unload their stocks at prices any lower ( ie stocks become too good a value)

BTW--I can't wait for the mid January short interest for Naz stocks--that is going to be released later this month.

No problem.....I'm actually long atml stock....I looked at the leaps, and like them....ITM's are about $6 which is nice, but with the stock at $14 and change, I don;t want to spend almost 50% of stock price in premium...now go out to atml 25's, and we're talkin a different story.....they are practically giving those things away.......but I really do like the sunw 03 leaps and aol 03 leaps.......I do like the atml leaps as well, and may grab some on further weakness....but those sunw 35's look ripe......I like the fact that $35 was a price we were at just a couple weeks ago......and like I said earier, if we can't close a gap that took took weeks to make...in two years....well, we are all in trouble......thanks,,,,happy trading

This is not looking good here technically on the Compx again after the Csco sell off.. which i have confirmed in a down trend again. If Jsdu breaks support at 34 1/4 the next support will be at 25 1/2.
