tc; Thank you. Am a little confused here. It was copying the notepad.exe from the older machine that set off the virus alert in the new machine. Do you mean that in order to copy a file from one machine to the other i have to disable the virus protection on the new machine? Or that simply the name notepad.exe set off the alert. In which case, after i had copied it & turned the virus protection on, wouldn't the name still set it off? I think the file on the old machine may be ok. d.
