But then look at what his plan as governor did to Texas

"We should have never supported now-President Bush's proposal to return over $1 billion in tax relief. Now, we're really in the hole,"

I can see that you will never let facts get in the way of your opinions. And that is fine, everybody's got their own style. But those were quotes, not Woodward's opinons.

Your opinion is better and more informed than Greenspan's....a legend in your own mind!

Clinton wanted any balancing to be done at least 10 years out, well after he left office Don't you have the name wrong there? Shouldn't that be Bush? Doesn't the lion's share of his proposed tax cuts take 8 to 10 years before their felt?

Welfare reform was needed and the Republicans who were elected in 1994 to enact the appropriate legislation did so very admirably. The effects of those cuts will help the budget numbers (and the economy)for a long long time. Unfortunately, many of those folks said during their election campaigns that they would leave Congress after they did what they were sent there to do, and they kept their word. The current regime will take credit for those actions, but exhibit none of the fiscal responsibility or courage.
