I think people should be willing, and able, to deal with whatever comes. But if the choice is between 2 children starving, and selling one and the other surviving, how can I blame them for that choice? but for the child sold to a life of hell, and likely AIDS (look at Thailand, though i think you probably know), I think they might have preferred not to experience that particlular slice of life just to end up in heaven, if they are "saved".
