Re: "Do you know if Intel is planning to integrate graphics with their XScale core? If not, Intel could have a hard time getting design wins in the iPaq-style IAs"

From what I've seen, no other StrongArm implementation can compete performance wise with XScale and clearly Intel is good at integrating graphics with processors/chipsets. Timna was a P6 core+cache+graphics+memory controller+hublink interface, and Intel could have produced that cost effectively. It would seem likely that they could do something with XScale as well but I haven't seen anything published publicly so I we'll just have to wait and see.

Hi Fyodor,

RE: "Do you know if Intel is planning to integrate graphics "

Intel has been trying to integrate graphics for years, but the Rambus-issue got in the way, as Paul had pointed out.

RE: "If not, Intel could have a hard time getting design wins"

That was said on this thread a long time ago.

Enjoy reading your posts.
