Victor, my biggest European bargain was $2 a night near the train station in Barcelona in 1976. The toilet was a hole in the cement floor. I have no idea where the stuff went, but at least it didn't stink. <g>

My 3 pounds 50 pence place in the West End of London that summer wasn't too shabby either. I revisited 20 years later and found a tacky McDonalds next door and prices starting at 59 pounds per nite.

There goes the neighborhood !
