Drew,

You are neither short or long on RMBS correct?

Correct. In the distant past I was long once, and bought several straddles.

How do you benefit from RMBS stock performing poorly?

I don't. I have not had any financial interest in the market for the last six months.

About four years ago I did some benchmarking for a major CPU company which made me realize that most benchmarks were limited by memory latency, rather than bandwidth. The switch from EDO to SDRAM showed little performance improvement, despite the much higher bandwidth from a good SDRAM controller.

Then I started hearing claims from Intel that RDRAM systems were going to blow away SDRAM performance. I knew that was incorrect, and started posting to this effect on SI three years ago.

Since then, I have watched RDRAM stumble in the marketplace, and Rambus take a new strategy of litigation against the industry. Not a pretty picture.

I'm working about 16-20 hours a day right now, and SI keeps me entertained. (I'm a very fast typist.)
