Will this end in disaster? Or are you elevating me to a higher level of consciousness?

LOL!

A better question, at least from my POV, is whether we who lead you to Stage 5 will be responsible for bailing you out of jail.

That was a funny post, Penni!

My one bank account is strictly for the internet payment of monthly bills--credit cards, utilities, department stores, etc. I use a bank machine a couple of times a month for deposits. That's it! The only concession I make to a balancing is to check my deposits (generaly only a couple or three) against the statement (I don't add them--just make sure they are there (I still don't entirely trust bank machine deposits!).

I do check to see that my credit card debits show up, although I don't add them. I wonder if that should be dropped as well--probably.

When you bank online, all your transactions are immediate and searchable. One would have to be asleep for anything to slip by. I have no time for the actual adding and subracting. Their computers can add as well as my calculator. I don't even use MS Money or Quicken anymore. It was fun making fancy colorful print-outs with pie charts, bar graphs, etc...but in hindsight really a waste of time, IMO.

I seldom use cash for anything other than a drive through coffee or breakfast out, perhaps. If it is over twenty dollars it can go on a credit card.

That was an incredible post, Rambi. You get the LWP writers award for the week!

I just read your post to Bill and my 22 year old stepson and the discussion and negotiations continue at the Poet household.

Rambi,

There are two kinds of people:

1.) People that balance their check books and can't understand people that don't.

2.) People that don't balance their check books and can't stand people that do. Hehehe

Stage 5-- [...] Or are you elevating me to a higher level of consciousness?

Feel the power. Let the Cosmic Force balance your checkbook. Here's how you do it. If you feel like you are overspending, most likely you are. Every month or two, look at your average daily balance. If it is getting smaller, spend less. If it is getting bigger, invest more.

I tell you what: you figure out how to pad that out to a half day seminar at the Holiday Inn and we'll pack them in at $50 per head. We'll do a road tour. You "witness" me and I'll go whack some people on the head with their checkbook. Donations gladly accepted.
