Blake,

I have always used my real name, disclosed what I do for a living, and disclosed why I am here.

Then that makes you one of the few foolish enough to do that on the Internet.

Hi blake_paterson; Re: "And I have always used my real name, disclosed what I do for a living, and disclosed why I am here."

As regards the memory industry, and Rambus for that matter, you are a nobody. You have no inside information of any sort or knowledge of what is going on among either memory makers, Rambus, or the engineers who choose memory types. Of course you can post here with your real name. Nobody cares about what you have to say.

I doubt that anyone is getting paid to post bearish or bullish information on Rambus anywhere. That's simply fantasy conceived by people who have no connection to the industry. The opinions that Scumbria, Ali Chen, Dan3, and others have posted regards Rambus are (1) widely held in the engineering community, and (2) appeared in print in the engineering trade press in articles with authors who's names are not anonymous and appear on the article. What more do you want? Read this one, for instance:

Electronic News on the Rambus Trail
Jonathan Cassell, Editor in Chief, Electronic News, Oct 23, 2000
...This story generated quite a bit of controversy in the marketplace and Electronic News took a lot of heat from Rambus investors, many of whom sent abusive e-mails to our staff accusing us of inaccurate or biased reporting. The attacks intensified when IBM appeared to issue a denial of our article, but IBM's statement was actually the company's response to mangled versions of our story brought to its attention by our competitors.
...

electronicnews.com

Do I need abusive e-mails &c.? No! I'm not a journalist, why should I put my name out where I could be harassed by tech stock nut cases?
