mishedlo: Comments? Excellent post, particularly with regard to "stepping aside" if your picks and timing are not working in this market. It is not an admission of defeat to step aside, sit on cash, and wait for a better market to invest in. If you doubt this wisdom, scan the list of mutual funds in the WSJ or Barron's, supposedly run by expert stockpickers who spend all day researching stocks, and see how many are in the black YTD? The answer: not many.

Those are very good rules Mishedlo. I've made a bunch of those mistakes myself lately so it's good to see I'm not alone.

Also, the VXN is a new measure, right?
