the latest thinking is, the entire population of the planet believes that antivirus software is essential, and the lone holdout is you.

Ed, if you don't mind restoring your software in case of virus attack, you may actually be ahead of the rest of us. You don't struggle with unreliable virus updates - which aren't even free after the first year. Imagine the time and money you save. Plus, you can actually look forward to a total virus wipeout because it will force you to format your HDs and start over clean.<vbg> Besides, we need someone who doesn't run with the crowd.
