So what do YOU think is the real reason that Bush is calling for a tax cut?

Two reasons. 1 ideological one political.

1 - He thinks government takes too much of our money.

2 - He thinks it will be popular among people who might vote for him. Most people who would be opposed to tax cuts would still be opposed to Bush even if he did not support tax cuts.
