My problem with Scumbria...(bet you guys just can't wait for me to weigh in <g>) is that he cannot acknowledge the other side of the story. Earlier this week there was some very positive news about DRDRAM production. There was simply no other way to look at this production news but positive for Rambus, at least in the short term. (but each day of increased penetration is a long-term positive in my book). I goaded Scumbria to at least admit the news was good for the Bull's position. He would not do it. Not even a grudging joke. So what do we have, a holy crusade? If any of us cannot see and admit the technological, market and pricing strengths of the competition, how can we have truly intelligent conversation? I get tired of the Rambus/bad, DDR/good diatribes, and of the reverse. DDR seems to present some excellent attributes for graphics and servers. On the desktop, it has not proven a viable (meaning workable -as measured by market penetration and OEM acceptance) alternative to SDRAM or RDRAM. Gene may be closest of anyone in his analysis. Oh, and Carl did lie. Scumbria has not lied. But the blinders are on so tight I don't know if he would recognize the truth is some cases if it was right in front of him. Sorry is that is perceived as a personal attack....just an observation.
