Well, maybe not "happily". "Grudgingly, with lingering suspicion and disbelief" would frankly be more honest.

But it's not likely to ever happen anyway.

At this point, GW and his boys need not worry about the Dems. They control the White House and both houses of Congress. They can cut spending to the bone, and cut $2 trillion in taxes, and there is nothing the Dems can do. Then we will see in 2002 if that is the direction the American people think is best for the country.
