15 below wind chill? Aw, now, isn't that terrible. :)

5 below zero with 30 mph gusts, and I'm not sitting in front of my screen all night. Seems like everytime we get ridiculous weather, something is up in the barn. And, then of course, the wife is out of town, etc.

Gotta go get my coverall on again and head out. Throw another log in the stove while I'm out, would you? :))

BSE Urban Legend:

Re: >>Answer is, I've never heard of prion transfer from milk to humans, but I do know there is a question about gelatins... <<

Yes and also some make up products. Seems the industry dreamed up the idea that the brains of cows could provide a base for make up products. Just heard that on the TV.

Chip,

It pays to be a skeptic about what you hear on TV. The NIH has studied the cosmetic/gelatin issue with BSE and they've concluded that the claim is not reality-based. While they are circumspect, I'll assure you, it seems to be just another urban legend.

I got trapped in one of those a couple of weeks ago. I heard on CNBC from a credible source that server farms consume 25% of the energy in Silicon Valley, in particular, the server farms of Exodus. I passed this along as fact on one of my threads and was promptly told to go sit in the corner. I'd just been duped by an energy industry spokesman with an agenda and no compunction to use the truth. The California energy situation is similar to BSE in that the key players often see their best interests being served by disinforming the public at large.
