QUAKERTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 8, 2001--AM Communications, Inc. (OTC:AMCM - news) announced today that they have been selected by Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR - news) to provide network monitoring and management solutions Charter's HFC network upgrades nationwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, AM will supply transponders and software to monitor critical elements of Charter's HFC headends and outside transmission equipment in approximately 80 networks over a multi-year period. AM will also supply monitoring solutions for headend optical transmitters and receivers, outside plant optical nodes, and un-interruptible network power supplies.

Client-server software systems running AM's Omni2000 monitoring software will be installed at each Charter headend, at regional operating centers and at a national operating center. John Pietri, Senior Vice President of Engineering for Charter Communications, said ``This configuration will provide local management personnel with real-time decision data about the performance of important network elements, while providing regional and national operations managers with performance and trend-line information that will assist them in improving network reliability.''

As a related part of the agreement, AM's newly formed Broadband Systems Integration Group will provide customized software integration services that tie together various Charter 3rd party management software systems including DOCSIS compliant cable modem managers, return path monitoring systems from Trilithic, network management from HP OpenView, and engineering & geographic mapping systems based on AutoCad.

The AM Broadband Systems Integration Group is a strategic partnership between AM Communications and NeST Technologies. Inc. NeST Technologies provides AM with access to over 400 software developers employing a world-class CMM Level V software quality system.

Phill you posted the wrong ticker AMCN when AMCM is the correct ticker.

As for

Why would well know companies be choosing AM's products?

I think NOT AMCM is showing revenue growth and profits.

Profits & Revenue Growth is the key here.

Does CHTR have a profit? No! Do I call it garbage stock NO!

If you don't see opportunity then that is ok but others may see opportunity.

Hey its not like this CHTR gets much postings here anyway.

If anything it may attract some to Charter also.
