And who would you guess has the authority and political power to replace the FRB?

I hope that Alan Greenspan lives to a ripe old age. I remember several years when you couldn't clear a check written on a Texas bank for at least 10 days because -- unlike the remainder of this nation -- Texas wasn't part of the Federal Reserve System. I would hate to see GWB arrange for one of his Texan oil buddies to be our new Fed chairman.
