elpilot,

flying was my first career back in the 1970s.

I never knew that. Tell us a story. Where and what did you fly?

When are you going to upgrade that Pentium 486 of yours?
I think your free internet connection could work as long as it doesn't hang up on you all the time.
You don't use your browser during the game so those annoying adds won't be flying in front of the enemy...<g>

P.S. Looking forward to the day online sailing is offered...

my ego would suffer from being shot out of the skies by 10 yr. old kids who can fly circles around me. <g>

I just pretend I'm 10 again..........Hey Mrs Clapton? Can Clappy come out and play?

I used to fly for real too. 2 years! I had 1 real accident, though nobody or nothin got hurt except MY ego. I was taxiing a cessna 152 .....to fast..... and the wind was with me. I put on the brakes and suddenly I was whipping around to the right and off the taxi way I went. This was at a tower controlled airport, but luckily......this was the only spot on the airport where the tower couldn't see me. <g> So after taking a few seconds to calm my nerves, I powered back up (had to power WAY up cause the ground was pretty rough) got back on the taxi way......looked around....no other planes.......pretended it never happened. Which in hindsight was stupid, cause I was taxiing to the runway for takeoff. Had I damaged the gear or something, it could have been a disastrous takeoff or ensuing landing. The 152's are pretty forgiving, but what about the next guy?

I never got my IFR, and once got surrounded by thunderstorms........luck was with me then too, cause directly below, through the only hole in the clouds was a airport. <g>

Since then.........I switched to boating....and online flying. <g>
