"most brokers...know nothing about trading".

Well Teresa that's one of the reasons I left the brokerage biz after 6 years(g).

Per brokers and clients being perma bulls? As my long time veteran office mgr once told me, "It pays to be bullish". Bear markets were a taboo subject. Afterall volume goes way down in a Bear Market. And brokers don't make any money if nobody trades.

Argumentative? Sure. Brokers, like most salesmen aren't even hired unless they are dominant personalities and I can tell you there were some incredible back stabbers as well as in your face combative types in my office. It was a horrible environment to work in. Was glad to move on after I learned enough of the game to start trading on my own by 1986 when I loaded the boat averaging into every O&G stocks I could get my hands on. Sold em a little early in Spring/Summer of 87'. But in retrospect it was better to be a bit early THAT year, lol.

Indeed being right and making money aren't always the same thing. We are all spanked repeatedly by mother market till we learn to check our egos at the door WHEN we trade.

Have met mild mannered personalities who had huge egos and abrasive arrogant ones who listened with humility when they worked with the market. My old mentor was of the latter variety. Best pro I ever worked with. Learned more from him in a year than I did on the street in 6!

None of us will walk exactly the same path or at the same pace.

Cheers
