8:22AM EMLX warns of order push out (EMLX) by Susan Lerner

bigcharts.com

Shares of Emulex tumbled $19.75 to $57.75 in pre-market trading. The computer storage company (EMLX) warned after the bell on Friday that, in January, it had experienced "order deferrals" into the fourth fiscal quarter. In a note to clients, Robertson Stephens analyst Ara Mizrakjian, said the company indicated that if these order push outs continue through the rest of the quarter, it could experience sequential revenue growth in the third quarter that is below its previous guidance of 15 to 17 percent. Emulex blamed xSP storage inventory build up due to dotcom spending slowdowns. Despite the warning, Mizrakjian and CS First Boston anlyst Amit Chopra left their "buy" rating on the stock unchanged. Emulex is scheduled to present at a Robertson Stephens Technology Conference Monday afternoon.

>What's up with BRCD, VRTS, EMLX this morning?

Same old shit- profits are down, or rather losses are up, and the analysts finally got around to announcing you should sell the stock after they initiated short positions.

YES!!! I forgot my VRTS short went through Thursday!

Got that f*cker. And BRCD is a core short-and-hold, along with EMC.

The only one I missed is the one at the epi-center, EMLX. Three out of four aint bad.

It's now a shattered tulip. A Bye-Bye Avoid. So I'll be looking to re-enter the short on any bounces. Any suggestions?
