(ART) (Nasdaq:ARTT - news), a leading provider of broadband fixed wireless Internet services, and Cable & Wireless (NYSE:CWP - news), the global telecommunications group, today announced they have entered into a 10-year agreement whereby ART will provide broadband fixed wireless services to Cable & Wireless in certain markets in the United States. The agreement will generate approximately $11 million in total revenue for ART, all of which will be paid in the first year. Cable & Wireless expects to generate a comparable amount of revenue during the term of the agreement from providing broadband service to its customers and from providing value added IP services to ART. ``This agreement will enable Cable & Wireless to go directly to customer locations to provide high speed access through fixed broadband wireless infrastructure,'' said Todd Haven, vice president of Commercial Development, Cable & Wireless North America. ``By going directly to the customer locations, we will be able to eliminate last mile bottlenecks and provision service in a matter of days.'' ``We chose ART because its solution provides reliability, rapid provisioning and the ability to grow with our customers' bandwidth needs,'' said Haven. Under the terms of the agreement Cable & Wireless will utilize ART's broadband fixed wireless infrastructure to offer high speed Internet access in multiple markets. ``Cable & Wireless will assist ART in moving up the IP value chain by providing ART's sales channels with web hosting, dial and Internet access services delivered by one of the fastest backbone networks in the world,'' said Wharton ``Zie'' Rivers, CEO of ART. ``Clearly, this relationship serves as an example of how carriers, large and small, are partnering to create an unbeatable value proposition to our customers.''
