SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 12, 2001--Simple Technology, Inc.

(Nasdaq: STEC), a leading manufacturer of Flash-based data storage and custom
and standard memory solutions, today announced the availability of its new
16MB, 32MB and 64MB Multimedia cards.

The new Multimedia cards -- about the size of a postage stamp -- represent
the world's smallest removable solid-state memory solution, offering ideal
standardized portability for such multimedia consumer applications as digital
video cameras, audio players, Internet music players, electronic books and
digital communications devices including smart phones and pagers.

Simple Technology's multimedia cards feature low power consumption, forward
and backward capability and on-card error detection and adhere fully to MMC
mechanical and electrical standards. The 64 MB multimedia card provides
sufficient storage for up to 64 minutes of MP-3 digital music or approximately
40,000 book pages.

"We are excited to add the new multimedia cards to Simple Technology's broad
array of advanced flash memory solutions and delighted to introduce them to the
core digital photography audience here at the PMA venue in Orlando," said
Jeanclaude Toma, Simple Technology's vice president of marketing. "In today's
rapidly expanding market for portable digital storage, consumers can rely on
the quality, the pricing and the customer service guarantees that Simple
Technology offers."
MSRP prices for multimedia cards are $39.95 for the 16MB, $69.95 for the 32MB
and $139.95 for the 64MB.

Simple Technology is a worldwide innovator in the design, manufacture and
marketing of custom and standard memory solutions, including solid-state
storage products. The company's broad array of DRAM, SRAM and flash memory
products are used in high performance and personal computing, networking and
communications, consumer electronics, and industrial applications. Simple
Technology's patented IC Tower stacking technology, which differentiates the
company's memory and storage solutions from the competition, enables multiple
memory chips to be stacked together in order to double or quadruple storage
capacity in the same physical footprint. Simple Technology, Inc. -- with an
11-year history of solid performance -- completed its initial public offering
in September 2000.
