Tim,

Bush senior's answer was carefully planned to defer the line of questioning.

Most of the liberal press is still suffering post-Watergate trauma, and don't have the guts to maintain a serious line of questioning with Republicans.

Little Bush got a free ride with the press, as they failed to investigate any of the serious accusations made against him concerning his shady business past, or his problems with mind-altering substances.

Most people get annoyed/nervous because they don't like the line of questioning.
