Usually products are not sold to end users until they are completed. Intel occasionally violates this principle.

Doesn't it seem early in the ramp for P4 to be showing up in those channels?
In addition to DELL, Compaq, HP, Gateway and IBM selling them direct, you also have the major discount stores, (ie: Sams Club, CostCo, BestBuy, Walmart, Staples, Circuit City, etc), offering the product.
According to Intel there will be approximately 1 million P4's sold this quarter. (Constrained by the DRDRAM ramp?)
The five major makers I mentioned only need to sell an average 67,000 units each per month to consume that.
