Eighteen months is an eternity for the semiconductor market. If AMD isn't getting a premium for the product now, they're never going to... so what are they going to do then? Undercut themselves on the K8... again... The problem with AMD is that their core market is and always has been the budget gamer. They can't charge the price point they need to grow as a company without completely alienating their core market. AMD has played to the niche for so long that they don't know how to do anything else...
