mark ... got a new in the box Norton 2001 AntiVirus dealie on my desk right now ... installed it on MzNemer's machine downstairs yesterday .... will install it on MY email machine ONLY ... the other three boxes I won't ... machines and reasons 1) trading machine has as the only program on it .. my trading screen from my broker, not browser based ...no email, no surfing, no nothing ...just trading screen .... makes me feel fairly secure as I have checked and it is Stealth mode and the firewalls and protectors have seemingly caused me some difficulty in the past before I changed to a dedicated machine . .... 2) streaming data machine has only data incoming, no surfing, nothing else ... it too is in Stealth mode ... 3) the USE ME machine .... only thing on it that is of any value to me are the bookmarks .... and I back them up weekly ... and reformat the HD monthly .... this is the machine I keep having trouble with .... LOL .. course, running a CPU at 2to3 times normal speed CAN cause one to experience some minor probs ..... like melting things ..... ggggg so I am in the camp of the non virus protect users, as well as in the users, too .... if you're keeping a tally book .. kinda halfa$$ed ..... gggggggg
