The Fed made it about as clear as they could last month that they were defending that line. I'd take it seriously, and wouldn't rule out PPT intervention or another rate cut if we pierce that line again.

I suppose I shouldn't make any comments on this subject, but in the interest of friendly discussion and I emphasis, friendly (given version 1 of this thread) - I must say that I find any line drawing methodology that chooses at times to take into account the Close vs the Low/High, and at other times not, is a bit vague.

I also missed the Fed announcement that they were watching that line and lining up the defenses. ;)

For a lark, we could draw a similar line on the NYA and see where it might head to if it were to correct in a similar manner. Its not touched in eons, so I guess its due. <g>

However, I'm just a trader. Mind you this trader was out of tech longs on a long term basis in early 2000.
