After all the OSX has traded from 80 to 140 in the last 12 mos & Nat Gas from the $3's to double digits... but; whether Charlie Maxwell was allways right is not the point - it is that JQP has been the hystrionic, vitriolic, pom-pom waving postechild for one-way thinking... and if one removes his "after the fact" claims; the obvious reality is he went "Max Margin" directly into a collapse of the OSX from 125 to 94 in late October... directly after he chastised me for "missing the boat" after taking 75% of my money off the table in the end of August to the first of September as the OSX went from 125 to it's 140 ultimate top.... he chastised my move into Gold as both an offensive & defensive move - even though as it turned out - the XAU outperformed the DOW, the NAZ, the S&P, the OSX, the XNG and the XOI of late (per my earlier post & chart) on it's move thru XAU 52 of late. Anyone who built a position in the Gold & Silver stocks during that timeframe did so in the single cheapest 90 day window in XAU history with numberous 40-60% bounces off the bottom & numerous rotation & trading opps... not to mention that my opine on Dec 31st that the NG E&P's were a profit taking no-brainer atop a speculative blow off top; was met with his chastisement & spin doctoring as well... I guess the reason I stay on the darkside concerning JQP; is that from the days of his tear jerker mea-culpa - My broker sold my max-margined ass out - margin call blues... to his continual bull$hit after the fact back pats to non-stop pithy-tissy fits and disappearnces during the heat of battle only to return from yet another "perfectly" timed magical mystery tour - vacation AFTER the smoke has cleared - "glad" he sold, held, or bought - which ever presents the best scenario; I guess I just see him as the cut & paste cheerleading charlatan bull$hit artist who has never - not once; led a move; or made a single original call out front of anything here in two years.... just jump on the bandwagon pom-pom waving Perma-Bull hystrionics that have rolled over time & time again; from the Mea Culpa Margin Call Blues - when his broker liquidated him the first time in this boom cycle (he remains the only one I know of in Oilpatch history; who has been liquidated 2, if not 3 times during one boom cycle); to the Sept '99 average down & obsession with TMR to where he was backed into a capitulation corner - debacle; to the OCt 25 Max Margin directly into the OSX collapse; to rolling over with the NG plays here... he's never been early in - at the bottom, or out front of anything here yet and even more importantly - he's never extited upon a subsector top as yet as well. Just a hystrionic, pithy charlatan...allways ready to wave his pom poms aboard the next bandwagon he can hitch a ride too.... PS: re: where is the Nat Gas Price Blow off ? At the end of December speculative mo-mo move; "some" of us talked about it being a speculative top and it was; most of the "names" - APA APC EOG et al - blew off $10-$15... lots of $20 to $30 & back to $20 round trips etc...and there will be lots of head fake rallies within the longterm downward trend. Tell me this chart does NOT look like the Nikkei, or the NAZ bubble top ?!?!?!futures.tradingcharts.com I repeat; we will be back to $2.75-$3.50 faster than anyone thinks... this is a price anomaly blip due to the collapse in cap ex spending & drilling and cap ex spending & drilling will be the cure as well...and no one is going to pay more for these E&P's at $4 Gas & $25 Oil than they did at $35 Oil & $9 Gas... they will not take them to higher highs as we exit their peak in eps & cfps this quarter & next. The Nat Gas & Crude Oil charts are in the process of forming classic head & shoulders tops - bank on it and remember - they should; after all - rule #1 is: This is, was and will allways be a CYCLICAL SECTOR - these "AINT" growth stocks & pity the fool who trades them, or commodity prices as such ~ Ciao~
